What will your guests remember about your Wedding?
While planning your wedding, what facets are most important to you? The flowers? Your Wedding Gown? Focus on the things that make your heart go pitter-patter, and you can cut costs on other things. Don't skimp on your pictures or video because that is all you will have after your memory fades. What will your guests remember? According to a survey conducted by the St. Louis Bride and Groom Magazine, 81 percent of guests said the entertainment was the most memorable part of the wedding. Spectacular Detroit Michigan Wedding featured in national Bride's Magazine August 2011
Dream Wedding and Event Planners planned and coordinated a spectacular wedding in Detroit Michigan on May 28, 2011. Everything was perfect, and the Bride, Groom and their families were thrilled. The Mother of the Groom sent a lovely email to us. Some of what she said was, "We hired Kathy early, and that proved to be one of our best moves. I give Kathy credit for helping us avoid lot of sleepless nights. I would tell brides entertaining the idea of hiring Dream Wedding & Event Planners to not think twice about it. It will make the days leading up to the wedding so much easier, and they'll have such great memories from their big day. I can’t say enough about Kathy and her team. They really care and will go the extra mile for them. What more could you ask for?"

Summer Wedding Beauty tips from Rent the Runway
Looking hot when it’s hot outside isn’t always easy: we all know that summer humidity can melt a picture-perfect makeup application in five minutes flat. To keep your face looking fresh even as the temperature soars, the general rule is less is more. Follow these easy tips for makeup that withstands the warm weather at your weddings.
Use products with staying power
Liquid liner is notoriously smudge-proof, which makes it perfect for an outdoor or all-day affair. To ensure a crisp line, apply eyeshadow first. Then, line your top lashes starting near your nose and thickening as you move outwards, which will create an eye-opening effect. Try the Lancôme Artliner in Black, whose felt-tip applicator draws a perfect line every time.
Lighten up on lids and lips
If you know you’re going to be standing in direct sun or anywhere near an ocean, forego the sultry smoky eye makeup and red lipstick in favor of a lighter, breezier look. Do a sheer wash of shadow on lids and give lips pop of red color with gloss. We like Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Berry Bold.
Embrace your warm weather glow
Powder foundation and perspiration simply do not play well together. To get more natural coverage this season, try a tinted moisturizer. For a perfectly pre-mixed version that boasts SPF 30 to boot, try Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital Teinté.

Navy, Plum or Charcoal-colored Eye Liner
Talk to your makeup professional about using a navy, plum or charcoal-colored eyeliner instead of black or brown for a softer look. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, this will be less severe and will look better in your pictures.

What Will Kate Wear? Royal Wedding Gowns
Kate Middleton has vowed not to reveal anything about her dress before her wedding on April 29, 2011, but many have been speculating. Rumor had it, British fashion designer Sophie Cranston designed a dress for Kate, but reps from her label, Libelula said it wasn't true. There is another rumor that Kate actually designed the dress herself, with "ivory satin and lace with pearl buttons and a 10-foot train." She has also included what is described as a ‘nod’ to the iconic Emanuel wedding dress worn by Lady Diana Spencer, but has avoided including any of its ‘flounce’.
I think a gown fit for a queen should be very dramatic with a classic style. People will remember this dress forever. I've searched for pictures of what I think the dress may look like, but somehow I think they will pale in comparison to the actual dress. Here are a few of my finds:
Elegant and classic, I think this would be a great choice.
I would love to see Kate wear something like this, but it may be a little "southern belle" for her.
This one is gorgeous with all of the beading and detail. Plus, it would look great with a tiara!
This one is nice, but it reminds me a little of a (sexy) night gown.
This is the kind of dress I imagine when I think about a princess. I love it. It may be a little too sweet for Kate, though.
I love the details on the bust of this dress. I imagine Kate's dress will have a lot of sparkle.
What kind of dress do you think Kate will be wearing on her big day? I guess only time will tell. I have my dvr set up to record the event because I don't want to miss a thing!

In Honor of Earth Day; Renting Your Bridesmaid Dress
Today is Earth Day. The day where we remember that we only have one earth and we better take care of it and our natural resources. We do this by reducing, reusing and also recycling our waste. How about recycling dresses?
Most people do not get excited over buying a bridesmaid dress. The bride chooses the color and most of the time, the style of the dress as well. Then the bridesmaids have to shell out a lot of money for a dress that 1.) may not be their taste, and 2.) they will most likely never wear again. If you are in a lot of weddings, your closet may start to look like this:
Well, I have good news for you! At Rent the Runway, you can actually rent designer dresses for a reasonable price. The prices range from $50-$250 for bridesmaid dresses. They rent dresses for any occasion, along with jewelry and purses. It's also earth friendly, since the same dresses are worn over and over again. You can search for dresses by size, price, occasion and even body type. Don't worry about sizing, either. You are sent a back up dress a size bigger or smaller just in case, for FREE. When your event is over, just put the dress in the prepaid envelope included, and drop it into the mailbox. You don't even have to worry about the dry cleaning. A $5 insurance fee covers any minor damage that may occur, such as spills or zipper issues or losing a rhinestone. Plus, you can rent a dress that retails for almost $2000, for $250. Buying a dress that expensive is out of the question for most people, but renting that same dress, is now a possibility.
Rent the Runway carries designers such as, Nicole Miller.
Or Nina Ricci
Or Christian Cota
and also, Badgley Mischka (love this one!)
If you're getting married or are going to be a bridesmaid anytime soon, check out this convenient rental option. Save some money, wear a luxurious dress and then send it back, so someone else can do the same!
Happy Earth Day!

Use a Family Heirloom Brooch in your Hair

The Importance of a Bridal Hair Trial
You don't need any surprises with your hairstyle on your wedding day. To avoid the stress of redoing your hair on the morning of your wedding, have a trial done at least one month before the big day. That way, you can be assured that any tweaking that needs to be done will happen "before" not "on" your wedding day. Bring your hair accessories and veil to your trial. Ask your hairdresser to show you how to remove your headpiece with little or no damage to your updo, and practice removing it while you are at the salon.

ChooseYour Lipstick Based on the Look You're After
Choose your lipstick formula based on the look you want to achieve and your own body chemistry. A matte lipstick will give you pigment that is long-lasting, but it won't moisturize your lips. Stains usually last a little longer too, but the color is usually subtle. If you have dry lips, your best bet is to use moisture-rich creams and glossy lipsticks. Don't Drink More than a Glass of Wine at your Rehearsal Dinner. If you do...
It is best that you don't drink more than one glass of wine at your Rehearsal Dinner so your skin will glow on your wedding day. It can cancel out some of the effects of drinking all that water for weeks before. If you do, apply a cold washcloth on your eyes to reduce puffiness before bedtime and again in the morning. A luminizing face primer will help restore some of your radiance.
