Wedding Trend Predictions for 2012
Wedding Trends come and go every year while some of them remain for a season or two. Like cupcakes, strapless gowns and veils without a blusher. Predictions are just that: Predictions. However, some of them are right on, so here are a few:
1. Colors are all over the place. Any color palette is in, but some popular combinations are red cherry and lime, soft pinks and mocha, a mixture of oranges and light blue and aqua.
2. Themed weddings are growing popular again. The invitations, cake, attire, decor and even dinner can tie into a theme.
3. Romantic elegance is going to be huge in 2012. Think crystal chandeliers, silver and gold accents, intimate candlelight, garden weddings and soft, flowing hair.
4. Pets in the wedding party are growing increasingly popular and fun. Having your dog walk (or led) down the aisle up to you carrying the rings is fun, entertaining for the guests and personal. You can even dress your pup in a tuxedo or something that matches the colors of the wedding party.
5. Colored Bridal Shoes. The very first popular color for the bridal shoe was blue, but Brides are choosing more colors this year from red to soft pink. Some brides like to mix it up at the reception with something fun like brightly colored tennis shoes!
6. After Parties are becoming the rage. Many couples are choosing to continue partying until the "wee hours" of the morning, often until 3:00 a.m. Hosting an After Party at a local night club or lounge is becoming more popular than ever.
7. Dessert Tables are a top pick for the Reception. Couples are choosing a smaller signature wedding cake to be served on a Dessert Table with an array of other desserts from which to choose. The guests absolutely love this since some people don't care for (or are tired of) wedding cake.
However, whatever the current trends are, be yourself. Select the venue, buy the dress and accent your Reception according to what you love, and your wedding day will be one you will always cherish.

Winter Weddings are Beautiful
Dream Wedding and Event Planners is coordinating a winter wedding on January 7, 2012 at the beautiful Colony Club of Detroit, Michigan. If you are considering having a winter wedding, here are some advantages to consider:
- You can save a lot of money. With a winter wedding, you can shave a lot off the cost of a traditional summer wedding since winter is considered the "off wedding season".
- You can get exactly what you want. You have a much better chance of securing the venue and vendors of your choice. Since not many people get married in the winter, the same very popular locations and excellent wedding pros (photographers, videographers, etc.) will pass on winter discounts.
- More of your loved ones may be able to attend. With a winter wedding, more of your friends and family members will be able to attend. They will have fewer social commitments than typically during the summer months.
- Winter weddings are different. Do you want something unique that your guests will talk about for years to come? A winter wedding can be breathtakingly beautiful like none other. You can bring in freshly cut pine trees or have barren trees rented with lit votive candles and crystal strands hanging from them surrounding your guests for a cozy, romantic feel.
