Unique Idea for Receptions: Hot Air Balloon Rides for Guests

I suggested tethered hot air balloon rides for our client's wedding reception to be held on June 26, 2010.  It will be an outdoor tented event for 400-500 guests, and they wanted their entertainment to be unique.  They are also securing a photo booth from ShutterBooth and possibly a craps and black jack table.  More information to follow.

All white wedding and bridesmaids dresses?

Back in the times of Ancient Rome, the Bridesmaids' dresses were the same color as the Bride's dress. They believed it would confuse evil spirits that would try to harm the Bride. Now all white gowns - Bride and Bridesmaids - is an upscale style that looks incredibly elegant in the pictures.

Why a DJ cannot replace a Wedding Planner

A DJ company will tell you, "We will plan your day and make sure everything runs smoothly." Yes, a DJ can plan out your reception timeline to help get the announcements, first dance and cake cutting ceremony accomplished. However, your DJ will not know who to call if the centerpieces are the wrong style or if the wedding party is running late. He/she won't be able to contact a couture wedding gown alterations professional if a bridesmaid's zipper is broken and ripped from the dress. Your DJ will not know the details of the dinner that is served and whether the timing is correct or the cake is to be served as dessert or sent home in cake boxes. Only a Professional Wedding Coordinator will know about every aspect of your Reception. After working with you for one year or several months before the wedding day, your Wedding Planner knows the names of every family member and the wedding party, who will be where and at what time, and will have every nuance of your event recorded with information on each and every vendor involved in your Reception on the spot. Hiring a wedding planner is an essential element of a well-planned event.

Couture Wedding Gown Disaster saved by Katerina Bocci

Dream Wedding and Event Planners was hired to plan and coordinate a large outdoor tented wedding on July 25, 2009. The Bride and Groom live in New York, had their New York wedding and reception earlier, then flew to Michigan for their Michigan Reception. The day before their event, they took her couture bridal gown to a cleaners for a light cleaning. When they picked it up, they learned the cleaners has completely ruined her gown. It looked like it had been thrown in a washing machine, ironed by hand with a flat iron and scorched. The bride and her sister called me in a panic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with the Reception occurring the next day. I sent them to Katerina Bocci, a couture bridal gown designer located in Shelby Township, Michigan. She immediately canceled all of her appointments that evening, called in her two designers, and completely remade the exact gown by 2:00 a.m. with some differences because of designer patents. When the bride came to her shop the next morning, Katerina had soft music, a glass of wine and a masseuse there to relax her before the pre-reception pictures were to begin at 3:00 p.m. Katerina Bocci goes above and beyond excellence for her brides. Katerina told me, "I simply cannot have a bride in tears."

Lounge Seating at your Reception

Popular, nostalgic themes with the latest technology are some of the latest trends in the Wedding Industry. Paparazzi for the guests along with big band or techno music that originated in the city are some of the cutting-edge details that will make a lasting impression. Bright colors, sparkle and more unique, exotic flowers are in demand more than ever. Tented weddings with powder rooms, functional fireplaces and sunken dancefloors make it feel as though you are in an upscale ballroom. Dream Wedding and Event Planners will provide you the creativity, vision and expertise necessary to put together a wedding that will be remembered for years to come.

Jelly Balls... What???

What are Jelly Balls, you ask? They are a brand new decor item: polymer pearls that expand by simply adding water. These water absorbent pearls expand into perfect miniature spheres. They are non-toxic, biodegradable, and can be reused up to six times. You can use them to add color to your centerpiece vases, floating candles or decorating scheme. They come in eight different colors, and when you are done with them, put them in your potting soil to help your plantings retain more moisture. What a great idea!!

Latest Trend: Lampshade Centerpieces

I am planning a wedding at the Sheraton Novi Michigan in August, and we will be utilizing one of the latest trends in the wedding business. One third of the guest table centerpieces will be tall cylinder vases with a floating candle inside, topped off with a lampshade! You can incorporate any color, shape or size to fit your wedding decor.
